Zhu Runzi, an architectural photographer based in Shanghai and Paris, specializes in capturing architectural concepts within their contextual dialogue.

He completed his MArch degree from the Manchester School of Architecture and previously worked in prestigious architectural firms. His passion for photography grew during his time in the UK, subsequently, leading to his career in architectural photography.

Runzi’s architectural background and photography experience enable him to uniquely interpret how architecture interacts with light, weather, and time. His work has garnered recognition, including selection as a finalist in the Architizer 2022 gallery, and awards of Architecture Video of the Year 2022 at LOOP DESIGN AWARDS. He’s known for a documentary series capturing Shanghai’s lockdown emptiness in early 2022.

Runzi has collaborated with renowned firms including Norman Foster, OPEN Architecture, neri&hu, etc. His reportage has been featured in top architectural publications and digital platforms, cementing his position in architectural photography.
